Celebrate Diwali with Rangoli Coloring Tiles

Ever since my nephew, Kailash, was born, I’ve found myself reflecting each year on how the next generation will celebrate Diwali. It’s such a vibrant, meaningful holiday, and I’ve always wanted to find fun, creative ways to pass those traditions along. In past years, I’ve shared Diwali storybooks with the little ones. But this year, while working on a mini Halloween craft with Kailash, inspiration struck—and in fall 2021 the Rangoli Coloring Tile Kit was born, each year with a fun new design to enjoy.
What’s Inside the Kit
Each kit includes:
• 4 identical square design tiles
• Tea lights
• Colored pencils
The idea is simple and playful:
- Have your family color in the tiles (using chalk, crayons, markers, or any art supplies you already have at home).
- Tape the four tiles together to create a circular rangoli design for your entryway.
- Place the tea lights on top to complete the festive look.
A Family-Friendly Activity
Rangolis are a traditional part of Diwali celebrations, meant to welcome light and good fortune into the home. This kit makes it easy for kids to participate in that tradition while adding their own creativity. It’s designed to be low-mess, easy to clean up, and fun for all ages.
Why It Matters
The Rangoli Coloring Tiles are more than just a craft. They’re a way for families to connect, create, and celebrate together—keeping traditions alive while making new memories along the way.
